Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year!

Hey everyone, school has recently started, and that can only mean one thing, girls soccer! That's right folks, it is quickly becoming Fall, and the teams are together, practices are being done, schemes composed, formations executed, and all in preparation for the season, and ultimately the championship. This year the team coaches came together and ironed out the schedule, and all but one team will be battling for the UCSC Cup this year.

The tournament will be held at the Cumberland County Carl T Duer Soccer Complex despite their not having a team. The event was so well represented last season that Coach Jeremy felt compelled to continue showing Cumberland County's hospitality.

The tournament will start on Friday October 1st, and will end on Saturday Oct 2nd. The staff, teams, and families all hope you can make it a wonderful turn out for the girls, and coaches who have dedicated many hours of hard work.

A few items of note. This season the site owner wishes to try something new, and will need the help of many people...or some people, whichever fits the bill. To point though, he wishes to highlight one player a week from each team in a small right up on the site. This is to promote the student's exceptional abilities, attitude, and soccer spirit. Saturday May 8th: The Championships.

What a wonderful day for soccer! Meeting at the new(ish) Cumberland County Carl T. Duer Soccer Complex were Overton County Wildcats and Cumberland County United for the consolation game. During the regular season these two teams split the head-to-head match up with each winning on their own field. On this day though, none of that mattered. Here are some images:

That game was played at 3:00 PM, immediately following was the UCSC featuring this years number 1 and 2 seeds the Algood Middle School Redskins and the very Trace Middle School Raiders. During their regular seasons Algood won both match ups in a very close fashion. Once again though, none of that mattered once the first whistle blew:

Congratulations to all those who dedicated time and effort this season; to the coaches, the refs, the workers, and especially the players who gave it their all.

Both games will start at 6:00 pm promptly at the Carl T. Duer Soccer complex in Crossville.

Remember coaches to bring your own ref, and your check for $20.00 for trophies. The checks should be made out to Cumberland United.

Standing Changes.

Due to the amount of games that have been unable to be played due to weather we will be eliminating those games instead of viewing them as draws. This will at least include one game between Jackson and Cumberland, Jackson and Algood, and Jackson and Avery Trace.

If anyone else has had a makeup game that was unable to be finished then let the other coaches know so we can discuss what to do. As for now all "eliminated" games will only include the unplayable Jackson games.
